Color Time - Benjamin Moore Fresno

Welcome to another "Color Time" post. If you are new to the blog, this is a series where we post images of a paint color in an actual room setting! Afterall it is so much easier to fall in love with a color when you see it in another's space! Today I introduce you to Benjamin Moore's Fresno, a bright, fun and energetic orange! As you can see it works perfectly in small doses in a mudroom and also on these barn doors! I tell you, I would never forget to do the laundry with that door calling to me!

Are you looking for the perfect paint color? Check out past Color Time posts!

*Note: The above room is the actual paint color not just a resemblance of the color. As you can see above, the paint chip sample online looks different than what is in the actual room photo. When choosing paint for your own home never go by what you see online, the color will always be a tad different. I suggest picking up a small paint sample at the store and paint a color swatch in the actual room, then you will never be disappointed!

Miromar Lakes Beach Club - Wedding Reception

When people asked us where the wedding would be and I said Florida they automatically assumed I had a connection there. If you had asked me last year if I would be married in Florida I would have said no way! Than we decided to get married in April and if you have ever been to Boston you know how unpredictable the weather is..one day a blizzard the next a heat wave! So I started searching for locations. I knew immediately what I didn't want..... no banquet rooms, gold chairs or country clubs. I wanted a warm place with interesting details (as if this interior designer would ask for anything less!) and if possible felt like a home. I searched wedding photographer sites because I knew I would get a true sense of a space from their images and there it was... Miromar Lakes Beach and Golf Club. It was absolutely STUNNING and I was instantly in love.

MiromarLakesFountain
When you enter the property you are greeted by a large iron gate and a larger than life water fountain! It is unreal and nothing I would have ever found in New England!

This is the "foyer" of the dining room. You can tell every inch of this space was taken into consideration by the designers which of course made me ooh and ahh at every turn!

Here is the main entrance to the beach club, the gardens are so perfectly manicured!

Thankfully no one ended up in the pool or the lake at the end of the night! The round structure is the outdoor bar where the cocktails were served!

MiromarBeachClub
The lighting selection in the space was beautiful. Every chandelier and sconce fit perfectly with the style of the rooms! Look at the hardwood floors? Incredible

Miromar Lakes Beach Club Jace Interiors
When I walked in for the first visit and saw this room I squealed with joy! The large windows, and the light, airy, intimate atmosphere of the room made me feel like I was in someone's dining room...a rather large dining room! Right then we decided the theme of the wedding would be "casual elegance"!

MiromarInside
The teal upholstered banquettes were such a nice touch and definitely gave the space a warm feeling!

Miromar Lakes Beach Club Jace Interiors
We joked the only word Jessica and her staff at Miromar knew was YES! Every question we asked was replied with an "of course and absolutely we can do that"! They made us feel so welcomed which made the day even more special.

I know I am gushing but I fell in love with this place and knew it would be an integral part of having a family style wedding! We danced before and after dinner, it truly felt like we were having an intimate  dinner in someone's mansion!

To see more pictures of Miromar Lakes visit their website, I promise you will fall in love too! Now to plan our next stay down there!

Real Setting - IKEA Kitchen Cabinets

When I came across this incredible Mary Jo Bochner designed kitchen I knew I had to share it. The chandelier and etageres alone are post worthy! Though today the focus is on the affordability of this space....ready for it? The base cabinets are actually from IKEA! Yes we all hear about IKEA cabinets and some might turn their nose up at them but when you are on a budget and than see it in this setting I say way to go!

Above is the simple IKEA Akrum base cabinets. Add interesting hardware and enclose the legs with a sleek base and you are all set!

Would you use IKEA cabinets in your kitchen?

#Brimfield Recap

As you might remember I wrote about the items I planned to "hunt" for in the fields of Brimfield. Sadly I did not come home with any of the pieces but I did come back with a few little gems! This year was a bit strange as it seemed like many of the dealers were either scared off by the rain or sold out early. I was surprised by the number of empty lots. Rain definitely didn't scare me away, below are the few items I fell in love with and a few I brought home!

Brimfield Twin Bed Jace Int
I could imagine this going in a little girls room! The color was warm and not overly bright!

Brimfield Iron Bench Jace Int
Every year I come home regretting I didn't buy a certain piece and this was it! This bench was just darling!

Brimfield Trend Jace Int
Everywhere I turned these curved arm chairs kept popping up! Is it our next chair trend?

Brimfield Ruler Jace Int
Part of Brimfield is reminiscing about the past and these folded rulers brought me right back to my Dad and Gramps workshop! When I was little I LOVED playing with them, inevitably cinching my finger! I was also drawn to the color combo of painted turquoise and the rich walnut finish!

Brimfield Tweet Up Jace Int
After 5 hours of walking the fields it was time to relax in the fabulous #Brimfield tweet up tent!

Yes that is a bar which was a welcome site after a long day! Gretchen and Cynthia outdid themselves this year!

Ladies at Brimfield Jace Int
Of course the best part of having Brimfield so close by is catching up with Design Friends! It was so great to see Raina, Elizabeth and Michelle!

Brimfield Tweet Up Jace Int2
The fabulous Gretchen Aubuchon of Fashion + Decor truly knows how to throw a party!

Last but not least what I brought home! The end of our driveway doesn't seem to want to grow grass so I plan to spread mulch but I also wanted to give it a bit of height. This iron planter was a steal and so pretty! I can't wait to fill it with flowers, it will surely be a sweet welcome home everyday!

Brimfield Travel Clocks Jace Int
I have a weakness for travel alarm clocks so when I stumbled upon these I quickly snapped them up! It takes me back to a time when travel was so luxurious!

Have you been to Brimfield? What are some of your favorite finds?

The Wedding Photographer - Luminaire Foto

For the next 3 weeks on Thursday I will be sharing information about the wedding and all that went into it. Why we chose our photographers, the gorgeous wedding venue, the dress & bridesmaids dresses plus color combination and lastly all the small details which were so important to us! Below is just a sampling of those items! Today we start with photographers.

Our photographers at Luminaire Foto were AMAZING! As soon as we meet Karl & Nanette we knew they were going to be the perfect match for us! I wanted a team with a more journalistic approach and Mr. Vog's request was "he didn't want to see them"! Which would seem like a funny thing to request but you know we have all been at weddings where the photographer is in everyone's face and we definitely didn't want that! This duo acted more like friends who were excited to celebrate with us! They were always smiling, relaxed and even though we knew they were eager to get "that" perfect shot they never made us feel it!  In turn their professional but casual attitude made us super relaxed and we actually had fun while taking the pictures!

During this 3 week series I will upload the images to the Jace Interiors Facebook page with additional vendor info!

Next week I will share photos of the STUNNING reception venue and how from Boston I found it in Florida...a good story in itself!

Color Time - Benjamin Moore Cedar Green

It's "Color Time"! It's no secret how much I love Steven Gambrel's work so when I came across this super fresh living room I knew I had to share it with you. Benjamin Moore's Cedar Green is the perfect green with just a hint of yellow to brighten it up. This room has a very summery feel now but could easily move into a winter feel with a tufted ottoman and fabric roman shades! I love such a versatile color!

Monday Morning Happy

Morning Friends! How was your weekend? Did all of the Mom's have a great Mother's Day?
The sun was finally out over the weekend so we spent every possible moment outdoors enjoying the perfect weather. The days were filled with yard work, walks, baseball, family lunch with Mom and lounging on the chaise catching up on magazines! My favorite part of the weekend? Receiving our professional wedding pictures, all 979 of them! We had the BEST photographers and I can't wait to tell you more about them later this week! Here is just a little tease to get things started!

We have delayed our Italian honeymoon to later on this year but this weekend we started our research. Le Sirenuse is a gorgeous hotel with an amazing restaurant which was recommended by my friend Mally. The images are just breathtaking!

My Brimfield Scouting List

It's that time of year again! Tomorrow is the Spring Brimfield Antique Market and as you might remember in the past, I get just a weee bit excited! Thanks to Pinterest I have been saving inspiration photos as I come across them. The number one thing to remember when going to Brimfield is to be prepared! Know your dimensions, have a list of items you are scouting for and know how much you will pay for them. There is a lot to see and it's super easy to get distracted! Below are just a few things on my scouting list for tomorrow!

CarrieMillerBHG2
I adore these wicker chairs and hope to find a few just like them to paint a deep navy!

We are in desperate need for extra seating in our family room so I will be on the hunt for an ottoman. My dimensions are definitely smaller than the bench above but the simple fabric and nailheads are a good inspiration!

Check back in next week as I share my finds or follow me tomorrow on Twitter as I tweet pics of items I buy and those I pass by! Are you going to Brimfield? What is on your scout list?

The New Pottery Barn Scroll Tile Rug

Over the weekend I was flipping through the new Pottery Barn catalog and was SO happy to see they introduced a new scroll tile rug!

PBMoorishRug2
Years ago they sold the above Moorish Tile rug. every client was asking for it and some still do but sadly it was discontinued.

jillRUG2
Today I love all the tile rugs on the market but most are flat weave which is not always practical in rooms where you need a bit more cushion/comfort...think babies playing on the floor etc!

PBTileRunner2

The new WOOL Pottery Barn Tile rug is a great compromise of comfort and style. It is one of those patterns that will fit into so many transitional styled rooms. It would work perfectly in every room of a house (....though just pick one please!) and now they are available in runners too which is fantastic!

Do you remember the oh so popular Moorish Rug? Would you buy the new Tile Rug for your home?

Real Settings - Kravet IKAT Diamond Fabric

When I did the first "Real Settings" post the numbers skyrocketed so I think we will make it a regular series here. After all what better way to make a decision than to see fabric, lighting, furniture, rugs etc in a real home setting? Yesterday I was in the Kravet showroom and fell in love with this Ikat Diamond fabric than I arrived back in the office only to see it (or one extremely similar) in Musing Interiors portfolio! Isn't it fantastic?

KravetBlog

As a designer it is nice to stumble upon a portfolio where you say if I was to hire someone this would be it! I love everything about this room, the painted ceiling, the mix of textures and of course the typography on the wall! Jump over and visit Lauren Muse's Portfolio, I promise you will walk away feeling refreshed!

Would you use this Ikat fabric in your home?

Home Typography Tuesday - The Big Day Cards

Yes I love Pinterest because it makes my work life so much easier but who knew I was going to fall head over heels with it while planning the wedding?! It was the place I saved every image that captured my attention and the place I shared information with my wedding party! It was also where I found these adorable cards which we tucked into the welcome bags! With my love of typography you know I was over the moon and to my excitement so was "Mr. Vog"!

Mindy of Pixels to Paper was super easy and nice to work with! Her turnaround time and attention to detail were also amazing!

This pillow from Sugarboo Designs is just too sweet to pass up! I think it would be a nice addition once I start on the Master Bedroom, redesign!
