My Weekend of House Envy!

What an amazing weekend I just had!! It was a belated birthday celebration which started with tickets to see "WICKED" at the Boston Opera House. I have no words, this space is just incredible. In the last 10 years it was restored back to its original glory and let me just say as amazing as the show was I was enthralled by the details of this "house"! Walking out I said to Vog how lucky we are to live in a city with such rich history, they just can't afford to build places like this nowadays!

Inside the Boston Opera House! Can you believe the size of those chandeliers and marble columns? So glamorous! The combination of Italian and French styles is stunning!

Saturday was the epitome of the perfect New England Fall day so we decided to head out for a little adventure not really knowing where we would end up. Above is the mansion at Elm Bank, it was AMAZING. Most people would see a beaten down house but I saw it's potential and felt like I was thrown into a Pride and Prejudice novel. It was boarded up but peaking through the windows I could see fireplaces in every room, chevron floors and tin tiled ceilings. You know I wanted to win the lottery, move in and bring it back to it's glory days! Ahh a dream!

The mansion is situated with the Horticultural Society of Boston and the grounds were gorgeously manicured with so many flowers and plants! The "Goddess" Statues were brought to the property from their former home in downtown Boston. I can't really express how magnificent they were in person...they were HUGE!

Than if that was not enough interior design inspiration I came home to an email from the sweet Will of Bright Bazaar announcing I had won his blog contest! Well let me just say I was doing the happy girl dance all over the house!! Seriously people, I WON THE LIVING ETC MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTION! For a girl that never wins anything and is a lover of magazines, this is the best type of win! Thanks Will & Living Etc, you made my birthday even more special!

It's Picnic Time!

The long weekend is finally here and I couldn't be more excited! For the last few months I have heard about an infamous "picnic" Vog's family has every Labor Day weekend and this year I am able to attend! I am looking forward to meeting lots of new people and devouring all the yummy dishes I have heard so much about. After Hurricane Earl passes the weather looks to be absolutely perfect, it will be a wonderful way to spend the last unofficial weekend of summer!

Go out and pick some flowers this weekend!

YAY the weekend is finally here! Time to sit back, relax and possibly pick some flowers! This gorgeous image is from one of my "go to" inspiration ladies, Leslie of A Creative Mint. If you have never been to her blog pop on over, her photography skills are enviable and her images are sure to create a flood of happiness!

Gazing out across the lake

Truth be told I am more of a beach house girl than a lake house girl but when I came across this photo over on Amy's blog....well I literally heard myself take a deep breath. Doesn't it just ooze calmness? Those Adirondack chairs are the perfect type to curl your legs around and just lean back taking in the view. Give me a book, a cup of tea and let me just spend the day getting lost in my thoughts!

<span class=

Isn't it amazing how a photo can evoke a certain feeling? Where is your favorite place to relax?
I hope you all have a great, relaxing weekend!
Thanks again for all the sweet comments you left this week! I love hearing from you and meeting new blogging friends!

A walk through the garden

What a week it has been! Have you ever had a week which just feel like an emotional roller coaster? That was my week!! Lucky for me there were a few bright spots to the week. One being the overwhelming response to our NateDay! The power of twitter and our blogging community is just amazing! If you want to find a few new design blogs check out this list, they are all incredible. Another bright spot was having CreateGirl called out in a "Furniture Today" article by the ever supportive Leslie Carothers! Thanks Leslie!

With the weekend finally here, I found these serene gardens and thought what better place to have a little peace and quiet to regroup? I would love to grab my tea, take my time strolling through and just breath in the fresh air!

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend and thanks again to all my new readers, it has been fun "meeting" you!

Happy Weekend! This was one of those great weeks which started with a family wedding, my birthday and a few great client meetings. Changes are good but exhausting!

What a week!

I am so sorry I have been such an awful blogging friend this week! I am in the midst of revamping the blog and the website so I am saving some of my favorite posts for the unveiling. Will you stick with me until that time even if I only give you a few posts a week? I promise what I have in store is fantastic and I think you will just love all the changes! More guest posts and so many more "How To Thursdays". I would love any feedback with what you have liked, what you would like to see more and what you could just do without!! Feedback is always great especially at this time of fun changes!! You can find my email over at the about me section, shot one over. My goal is to make this a place you look fwd to visiting when you take a break from a hectic day!
OK sweets, go, enjoy your weekend!!!! Leave work behind for a few days!

Enjoy the Sunshine Weekend!

Hi All, I am going to sign off a weee bit early this week and actually take the entire weekend off from ALL work! My little sister is coming back into town to plan her September wedding. I am calling it the "Wedding Planapalooza Weekend" since we are going to pin down every little detail in 3 days. I love when someone asks me to help plan any event and a wedding, well that is even more fun!

I hope you all have a great long weekend (if you are in the States that is) and I will see you back here on Tuesday. Thanks so much for reading, I appreciate each and every one of you and have loved getting to know you through your comments/blogs!

Happy Weekend!

Is it only me or when the sun is shining bright everyones happier and things seem to go your way? Well that was this week! It has been a great week here at CreateGirl and over at Jace Interiors too. It is so fulfilling to be living a creative life everyday, something I try not to take for granted. My online blogging class might have something to do with this sunshiny view. All of my classmates have been supporting and encouraging each other. It has been such a wonderful learning experience! Now I am thinking of what class to take next. Has anyone else taking an online creative class?

I hope everyone has a fun weekend and thanks once again for all the comments this week, I did a little jump for joy every time I read one!

Peeps & Tulips

How was your week? I had a great week! I am absolutely loving my new online class and am feeling full of creativity! It's Easter weekend and in my family we always give gifts of flowers. It could be a plant for the spring garden or a sweet bunch of my favorite flower, the tulip! We can't forget the peeps, the picture above is so fun I love the combination of colors. Once again I see color inspiration in the same tone of pinks, purple, greens and yellows mixed together! Maybe a little girls room?!
Enjoy the weekend

Have an Inspiring Weekend!

Welcome to the Weekend!
This week was filled with a few ups and downs. As you can see I turned to my favorite bloggers for inspiration and they definitely pulled through! Where do you turn for inspiration or a quick lift your spirit moment? Thankfully the week is ending on a very positive note!

A quote to remember, found over at Creature Comforts

I was reminded once again of the very true statement "if life gives you lemons make lemonade". So when I came across the "Sipping in Style" post over at Hostess With The Mostess I just had to laugh!

Desire To Inspire reminded me there are only a few short months until outdoor dinner parties resume!! I can't wait!

The last thing to leave you with before we head out for the weekend is an adorable, free spirited video "Cloud Nine" over at Coco+Kelley. Check it out, it will put a smile on your face!

Thanks for another fun week here at CreateGirl! I truly appreciate all the comments and for all your visits!
Enjoy the weekend

Lounge around, it's the weekend!!

This picture is from Coastal Living Magazine and is just spectacular. The view is absolutely amazing and just outside of this room is a swoon worthy infinity pool. The wicker chairs look incredibly comfy too! I imagine a group of us lounging, the table filled with yummy apps and bottles of wine. Doesn't it sound like the perfect way to spend the weekend?! I hope your weekend is filled with great friends, fabulous wine/food and hopefully a beautiful view!
See you all next week

Happy Weekend!

Welcome to the weekend! What a great week it has been. The lovely Holly over at Decor8 linked back to CreateGirl which has introduced me to many new readers! Thanks Holly and welcome to all my new friends, I hope you enjoy the posts here!

I just stumbled upon this picture and am loving it! A ladle used for a change holder, perfectly whimsical! This was displayed in a front hall, great for grabbing change for the city meters as I run out the door. Now I will be on the look out for a great vintage ladle. Do you have any suggestions?

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend

Happy Snowy Weekend!

This picture was featured a week ago on Boston.com after the awful ice storm. The forecasters are predicting 2, yes 2 lovely snow storms for this weekend! I guess, I best get use to it, winter has arrived. Though with pretty pictures like this, I could get learn to appreciate it a tad bit more!! Stay warm and stop back in on Monday, when Guest Blogger, Betsy takes us on a little road trip.
Enjoy the weekend

Happy Weekend!

Yipppeeee it's the weekend!! This week on CreateGirl revolved all around friendship, quite by accident but once I get talking about my lovely guys and girls who make my life so much better I just can't stop gushing! Actually why stop now? It started out with the adorable "Cute Picture of the week". Than I introduced you all to the lovely and talented Ms. Betsy as our guest blogger (did you see that cozy chaise she featured? Heaven!) I am so excited to have her on board, the creativity is overflowing between us! Next up was the news Cassandra from the blog Coco+Kelley which I posted about here, was added to the Decor8 blogroll. For those of you who are not familiar with Decor8's blogroll let me just tell you, it is a big deal and so well deserved!! Click over to Decor8 for the full list I am sure you will find a few new reads to fall in love with too! The incredibly talented Christy from BellaBluDesigns (who recently appreared on Martha Stewart!!!) was sweet enough to talk about CreateGirl on her own blog! Such support is truly an amazing feeling!! So I head into the weekend feeling lucky and proud to have such wonderfully creative friends who inspire me each day.
Do you have a friend who did something special for you or achieved something great this week? If you want to give them a little "shout out" leave it in the comment section!
Enjoy the weekend!

What Sunday does for me

Friday...... How I love the day! Actually, Sunday is by far my favorite day. My ideal Sunday is going to brunch, reading the paper, if it's fall watching football while flipping through cookbooks to decide what will be for dinner and if time allows go for quick walk after dinner. In my house I like Sunday dinners to start at 3 and last until 6. They should be a leisurely event, filled with friends/family around the table and yummy home made food. I can smell the aromas filling the house as I write! Ideally it would be great if every Sunday was like this but with the hectic schedule it's not always feasible. When I do have the opportunity for a BIG home cooked relaxing Sunday I treasure it and feel energized for the entire week.
What is your favorite day of the week?
Enjoy the weekend!
