Color Time - Sherwin-Williams Quietude

Looking for a quick and easy way to update your bathroom? Why not paint your vanity or purchase a reclaimed one and give it new life? Below is a darling vanity I came across from the "Coastal Living Showhouse" in South Carolina. To say I wanted to move in would be putting it lightly, the entire house is incredible! Sherwin-Williams Quietude paint color is perfectly named and fits seamlessly into this beach side bathroom!

 

 So what do you say? Would you paint your own vanity a fun color?

If you are like me and looking to escape the fall chill (at least visually...) pop on over to Coastal Living and explore their 2013 Showhouse. It is a stunner with every room full of color!

When choosing paint for your own home never go by what you see online, the color will always be a tad different. I suggest picking up a small paint sample at the store and paint a color swatch in the actual room, than you will never be disappointed!

Beach Bungalow Daydreaming

School is officially out this week and with the kids on vacation all I can think about is a little beach bungalow to escape to! Well that sounded bad, I mean a bungalow we could ALL escape to! This Tim Clarke designed house does just the trick. Small enough to be cozy (and not take too much maintenance) but open enough to pull the beach in!

This is the master bedroom sitting nook! Who wouldn't want to be wrapped in sunny windows while reading a book? The roman shade pattern is perfect as it doesn't take anything away from the view but adds just a bit of interest to the space.

The mix of wicker chairs and wood settee creates a casual feel to the dining room.

To Relax and Be Grateful

Yes, it true I am another year older today! It is hard to believe since the number of years doesn't match up with the number I feel (thankfully it is younger!). Every year this is the day I look at where I am going and where I have been in the last year and take stock. This past year has been incredible for Jace Interiors and CreateGirl, so many amazing opportunities and clients have come my way. I can't even wait to see where I will be next year at this time as I know I will have achieved things I never dreamed I would!

Today my hope is to have a bit of downtime to catch up on my beloved magazines and maybe even read a chapter or two of my summer time read (yes it is fall but who's keeping track?)! Tonight Vog and I will head out for a romantic dinner in the city and in a few weeks Mom and I will celebrate our birthdays together with the entire family!

Thanks for all your support this year and to all my new friends I have met in the last few weeks, I am so happy to have you in my friend circle now! Life really is GOOD!

My Type of Dressing Room

This is my type of dressing room....simple and organized without a lot of fuss. Yes I love those gorgeously decked out dressing closets we all see of celebrities, dolled up with gorgeous fabrics, opulent chandeliers and shelves for 100 shoes but really is that reality? Not for me! Now this space could be a reality without breaking the bank (I'll save that for shopping the actual clothing)! An enormous mirror which brightens the space, a roll or two of sunny wallpaper, a bit of paint that matches and a colorful chandelier and tada I am one happy girl! This is a place I would be happy to wake up to each morning!

What about you? Are you more understated or would you prefer the glitz and glamour?

Monday Morning Happy - Kitchen Style

Morning All! How was your weekend? Did you work on any creative projects the last few days? When I came across these two photos on Coastal Living they immediately felt calming. One of my favorites times in a kitchen is when the early morning sun streams in and all is quiet. Open the windows and add a cup of hot tea and its a little slice of heaven!

Flying Away

Morning All! When you read this I will be on a jet plane flying away for a bit of R&R..beach, pools, fruity drinks, magazines, good food...you know all the things we dream about escaping to! I am so excited as it will be a much need vacation for both Vog and myself! By Wednesday he will be back to crunching numbers and I will be back to you lovelies with lots of great inspiration! I hope you all enjoy your weekends!

An escape from the rain!

It rained the entire weekend, the wind swept get soaked even with any type of umbrella rain. This Monday I needed a little sunshine escape, let's just say a moment to daydream! This picture fits my daydream right now, I imagine a group of all my favorite people gathered around the table for a casual dinner than retire to the deck for cocktails! Ahh complete bliss! Isn't the vaulted ceiling just stunning? I can only imagine how spectacular it would look at night and of course you know I love the chairs with numbered pillows, very fun! Working with the Eaves

Sometimes I come across a picture which stops me in my tracks with a "Holy Crow", that is so cool! This is one of those pictures from Coastal Living. In the northeast we have many "Cape" houses and at times it can be a challenge to work with the eaves. This is the perfect solution. By sectioning off the wall they have created bunk areas for the kids beds. A smart addition of wave molding gives the illusion of a separate space! A great idea and looks fabulous!
