Elle Decor + Milan = An Interior Delight

I spend most Friday afternoons responding and cleaning out my inbox with the hopes I can start Monday morning fresh. Is this the most exciting way to end the week? Not really but on occasion an email pops up and brings pure joy to the task. This was the case today when Elle Decor sent over a sneak peek of April's cover! The navy wrap around sofa is so incredible that I literally squealed with delight! As you know I have been on a MAJOR Navy kick the last few months even ordering my very own Navy Sofa for our Living Room. Below you will see 2 images from the issue that is out on Tuesday and in the issue they are taking us to Milan! Fabulous!

This is such a tease and I can't wait to get my hands on the entire issue. Thanks Elle Decor for making my Friday so much more enjoyable!

Let's Talk - Open Storage in the Bathroom

I came across this bathroom from Nate Berkus and like the clean, sparse feeling of it. Though I wonder what is your opinion on open storage in the bathroom like this? Do you like your towels at arms length? Would it drive you nuts if they were not always folded just perfect?

I would love to hear your opinion!

Monday Morning Happy

Welcome to a new week! We finally got some snow this weekend and most people in my life would be absolutely shocked to here me say....I thoroughly enjoyed it! The idea of feeling "snowed in" with nothing to do but read magazines and watch movies sounded so appealing. Well like most things that isn't exactly how the weekend went but I did carve out some time to work on a new and very fun project! I have been asked by Gretchen the mastermind behind the new website Fashion + Decor, to be one of their contributors! Below are just a few of the rooms I used to pair with shots from the runway. I don't want to spoil the big reveal but I can at the very least show you a room or two I selected!

Even though I was inside by the fire enjoying the snow fall I was clearly thinking of summer colors and the ocean!

Meg Ryan escapes to the Vineyard

Living in Massachusetts Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer which means the ferries are packed with people going over to Martha's Vineyard for a quick getaway! So when I saw Meg Ryan's fresh MV home in the new Elle Decor I just had to share! Her practical rules for designing are ones we could all use when moving in to a new home!

My favorite part of her home is the kitchen with its ample windows and the vintage flower sign in the dining room! Fantastic! For more info pop over to Elle Decor and read all of Meg's tips!

Monday Morning Happy

Morning! How's everyone today? Ready for a new week? Well I guess I should prepare you, I am going through a sad time....it seems like the end of summer is coming at a faster pace that I would like. I have some great "back to school" posts ready but can't bring myself to unveil them until after Sept 1. With that said, this week I will be throwing in some dreamy end of summer photos. Do you feel the same way or are you ready for fall to arrive?

Hope it's warm and sunny for your new week!

Beachy Blue Grays

In June, Elle Decor did a feature on the Cuomo's Hampton house and it is just darling. I have only selected 3 pictures out of the lot but to enjoy the entire article click here. The Settee above is perfect with Madeline Weinribs Navy Luce fabric, it gives off a very beachy feel. The reflection in the mirror ever so slightly shows what I think to be the same fabric on the window treatments! I chose the picture below not only to show off the lovely Christine Cuomo but for the flower arrangement on the dining table. Isn't it sweet to have vases and flowers of different heights haphazardly placed on a table? It leads to a real casual feel. The sofa and chair below are in the sun room, I would love to see this just outside a kitchen as I could imagine enjoying my morning tea here soaking up all the sun from those FABULOUS windows! The blue gray from Farrow and Balls Estate Emulsion collection is a favorite of mine, just perfect and a nice departure from the typical cottage white. I wonder what draws me to a particular article in a magazine or makes me stop and tear it out for the inspiration folder. In this instance I think it was the paint color and the large windows, they are strong but soothing at the same time!
