Reclaimed Beach Bathroom

Beach houses, they have invaded my mind! Maybe it is the 90+ degree heat or the idea of escaping every day life for the beach but it is all I can think about. I even have a folder of beach inspiration photos labeled "daydream"! One theme which continues to show up is the idea that the "beach house" should have pieces which are reused or reclaimed it should be a space with a more relaxed feel. It would still flow but not necessarily have that "together" feel, if that makes sense! When I stumbled upon this photo I immediately knew it was going straight to the folder.

The white washed horizontal paneling, the turquoise painted molding (notice the thin white stripe? love it!) and the reclaimed hospital wash stands, painted and used as side by side sinks. Since they are small they take up little room and with the faucet in the corner, it is an even better solution. By thinking outside the ordinary the home owner uses vintage sand pails as towel holders. All fantastic ideas!

I am totally in love with this look! I often see these washstands in the stores I visit in both new and vintage versions, but I've never seen them so fully realized in a house and looking so good. Yellow and turquoise would never have crossed my mind, but here it is gorgeous!

This is so charming, love the colors. This whole look says "Fun"! I've really got my eye on that whitewashed horizontal paneling, been seeing a lot of that lately and would love to have it in a bedroom or bath. Of course, I will have to break it to the hubby very gently. LOL

I ADORE this bathroom! It is so darn charming and chic at the very same time... first off, the colors are so cheery, and are pure Summer, and then, I love the sink area. It's genius and so unique... and the moulding detail is a lovely touch. Did I mention how much I enjoy the walls? This is one for the inspirational files.

SO happy you shared it today. Hope you enjoy some ice cream in this heat wave :)

xoxo,
Sarah

I'm totally with you, I have been thinking of Lake houses all week long! My Grandparents sold their lake house about 6 years ago and its right around this time of year that I miss it most.

The color combination is so fun! And I loooove the whitewashed paneling. I want to do this on my ceilings--maybe it'll make me feel like I'm at the beach all year long ;-)

Is it possible for you to share the direct link for this picture of the beach bathroom? I would like to Pin it but it says I can not. I would like to go to the original source but the link you provided just takes me to the homepage and there is too much for me to look through to find it! Thanks! Love the inspiration!
