Color Time - Pratt & Lambert Secret

Wow when I went looking for a "Color Time" paint I didn't expect to find this Sara Story Design room! It is so much more than a "color time" post with the slender black chairs, frosted glass cabinets and incredible...to die for flooring! It is the perfect mix of impact and subtle design. In my opinion the reason the ceiling paint works is because the rest of the room is neutral and quietly takes a backseat. Notice the lighting, white with just a bit of trim, the perfect contrast!

The question for today is, would you be so bold to paint your ceiling purple?

What a gorgeous color this is! It's just lovely... and I really enjoy the idea of just using it on part of the ceiling – it makes a wonderful and unexpected statement. On a side note, this is my favorite brand of paint—it seems to go on so well, and cover perfectly...

I hope you're having a wonderful day :)

Sarah

I adore colorful ceilings. One of my past offices had a fabulous turquoise ceiling.

Now when i see this, i think i might if i can. It added in a very different touch, what exactly i can't pin point. But i really like the idea and this colour tone.

Ooh I love this! I think a painted ceiling is a lot of fun. I recently saw a striped ceiling (it was a modern baby’s room) and am def going to “borrow” that idea someday!

Yes, yes and more yes. I love purple walls, in my last apartment my bedroom walls were dark, inky, black purple and I LOVED it. Paired with crisp white it was very refreshing despite being so bold.

This is just stunning! Love the simple drama. Never would even imagine painting the ceiling a color, but love the impact! Do I dare?

Wow so many great comments! First of all the space is gorgeous and second of all I LOVE the painted ceiling...it's so warm and enveloping!

I always paint my ceiling some tint of the wall colour and when it goes on first with only primer on the walls, I often think I would love the look of a dark ceiling and white walls. This is stunning and I love it. Yes, I would do it, but my husband...probably not so much!

I love it too! I don't know that I would do it, but I do love it. Maybe I would do it. I don't know. (why am I fretting over this? ) I would probably be afraid that when I did it, it would look silly, but here, it's just amazing. I, like Hop Hostess, am asking myself, do I dare?

I love painted ceilings. A few summers ago I painted my living room ceiling and part of my kitchen ceiling light blue and have just loved it. I am so taken by the purple hue of the ceiling in this space and I adore the painted floor design. The room is sort of an odd pass-through room that's trying to dress itself up as a more formal dining area. As a room it is awkward, but it proves paint certainly helps.
