Let's Chat - Wallpapered Ceilings

Lately I have seen so many rooms with wallpapered ceilings and I wonder how you feel about this trend? Since your eye is immediately drawn to the ceiling does it take away from the rest of the room? Do you prefer a big bold print or one more subtle? I wonder if it is more appropriate for certain rooms like a dining room?

I would love to hear your opinion, is it something you would do in your own home or is this a trend you will just let pass you by? Let's Chat!

I would do it! But I would keep it to smaller more intimate spaces like powder rooms or an entry - somewhere I would be less likely to tire of it. As for the print I would like a natural grasscloth or something very textural, or a rather bold print.

I love that this seems to be a growing trend. I have horrible ceilings in my old house and would love to cover them up with pretty paper--large or small print depending on the room!

I think it makes such a dramatic statement! I would actually love to do this in my home! I especially love the second image here!

I don't know that I love them when there is a huge contrast between the walls and the ceilings. I tend to be drawn to jewel-box type spaces - cozy bedrooms where the wallpaper covers both the walls and the ceilings, tiny powder rooms, etc. I'm torn between really liking the dining room you've shown and thinking the ceiling feels a bit heavy. This foyer is kinda spectacular though!

Possibly in a small jewel box of a powder room but other than that, I find if oppressive. Tends to draw the eye away from anything else in the room.

What a statement - I never thought about doing this. I"m really into painting ceilings the same as the walls but I'm curious to try this wallpaper idea out.

Thanks for the inspiration! xx

I agree with you -- it seems more appropriate in a dining room for some reason!
