The Case for a Built In

Last night I casually said to the fiance, "the one thing I really look forward to registering for is table linens and platters"! Well I thought his eyes would permanently roll into the back of his head and never return...you see I already have an overabundance of tableware, tablecloths and napkins but I think a girl could always use more (thanks MOM!). Truth be told I can't really justify buying or receiving another piece because I don't have the space to store them. I am a designer you see so I walked the house to visualize where we could (down the road..) create a built in for all my precious items!

Maybe I will choose to have the piece span from one side of the wall to the other, this should create enough storage!

I could work it into the architectural details of the rooms and build a cabinet on either side of the doorway. This is a pretty option and would not overwhelm the room.

This built in is an interesting option as it links to a walk in storage unit! Could this be the best of both worlds? Maybe!

I am sure this conversation will continue so stay tuned and if you have any fantastic built in photos please send them my way!

Right now we are in a rental with very little storage space, but I tell my husband all the time that I cant WAIT to have a place we own so that I can have fantastic built ins made. I tell him it would be nice to make good use of all that vertical wall space. I think his eyes roll so far back in his head I wouldnt see them again too :)
