Monday Morning Happy + Sofa Hunting

Morning Friends! Wow it has been a while since I did a MMH! The last 2 weeks have been filled with traveling to Maryland for some family time and NYC for an exciting event (which I will share more of later)!

This weekend Mr. Vog and I went sofa shopping. What an interesting experience this was. A financial guy and a designer scouring the stores for the perfect compromise. I must admit as a designer it can be a challenge shopping for your own home and even more challenging explaining to the fiance why it is so difficult to make a final decision! Has anyone else every been in this position?

Here is a little background, our space is small so the sofa needs to be under 82", at least 34" deep and Mr. Vog prefers a tightback. I prefer a cleaner look with sleek arms and a cushioned back. These are the 2 options we are considering and a settee that we both immediately agreed upon! Phew!

Stats: Tightback, 3 seater, sleek arms, 77"w 35"d 34"h

EA Montgomery Sofa

Stats: Loose back cushion, 2 seater, 76"w 37"d 36"h

I am so excited the fiance loved this settee, it has been a favorite of mine for months!! It will be the perfect addition to the sofa we choose and a great way to maximize our seating!

Now to pick fabrics...

Oooh I love that Ethan Allen! (I, too, am a fan of the looseback :) but both are gorgeous! You can't go wrong, my friend! xo

Oh boy. I like the loose back of the EA sofa, but I have to say, a 3 cushion seat is better than 2. People inevitably sit on the "crack" in the middle and that will start to dip.

I love the settee too!

I prefer the Mitchell Gold Cara Sofa. The three cushion would be more comfortable for three people. The tight back gives you more room to add throw pillows without making it seem over stuffed.

EA is lovely but due you compromise
on the sofa and pick the colors

Love that first one. Reminds me of our Pottery Barn Arianna sofa we bought years ago. Thanks for the positive vibes for Monday! Hope you find the sofa you are looking for:)

This is the exact situation I am in. A designer and a fiance man trying to compromise on a sofa. Its been two years, yes years, and we are yet to agree on one. These are very pretty options!

I love the ethan allen sofa, it looks really comfortable but still polished.

Love all three options. So hard to choose when they have such a strong opinion about something.

although i prefer a three cushion couch (having gone from a 3 to a 2 and regretting it), I think the Ethan Allen one looks so comfy cozy!!

WOW thanks for all the great feedback! I will keep you all posted. We know for sure we are going with the Suffolk settee but the sofa is still up for discussion.

The Mitchell Gold sofa is really great! I've seen it in person and love their line of fabrics too.
