This weekend I immersed myself in Holly Becker and Joanna Copestick's new book Decorate and let me tell you it is just fantastic!! It's not just a decorating book it is a resource and one I promise you will refer back to many times. Did you know Holly is the one that encouraged me to start blogging and how CreateGirl was born? Jace Interiors was featured on Daily Candy and after that Holly asked if she could interview me for Decor8 which was my first introduction into the big wide wonderful world of blogs! When people ask for blogging advice I often tell them this story and how it only takes encouragement from one person to get you started on a path that could very well change your life!
I am not one to review books but I am excited to share my favorite parts with you! First you should know the book is divided into four sections: Space Matters, Setting Your Style, Room by Room and Attention to Detail.
The space planning tips are a wonderful tool as you can find a floor plan that is similar to your room size and implement these moves immediately!
I was so excited to see Amy Neunsinger's dining room included in this book. Remember how much I loved it and even wrote a post about it! This section is about "Using Your Space" including all the architectural details and elements that made you fall in love with your house in the first place.
The Attention to Detail section could very well be my favorite! Flowers, ahh what can I say, I fell in love with all of these images. "Flowers are the costume jewelry of the home" what a quote and so true. They can bring life to any space!
The book is also chock full of quotes from some of my favorite people including Nate Berkus, Simon Doonan, Leslie Shewring, Vicente Wolf, Susan Serra and Victoria Smith!
I purchased my book at Anthropologie but you can also order it online at Amazon!
Best of luck Holly, this book is just beautiful!
