I admit, I fight against the norm at times. From a young age my goal was to be different, maybe just
slightly but still different than everyone else. So it's funny that I am drawn to this symmetrical room. Each side so identical almost down to the bud vases on the bedside tables! It could just be that it gives my eye a break especially after a long day of scouting for clients. The crisp blue and white with just a small punch of turquoise on the lamp shades & roll pillow feels so soothing! Of course with our theme being "affordable finds" I went ahead and scouted out a few pieces for you to add in your own bedroom, all under $200! Enjoy!

Love the buys -- especially the ottomans used at the end of the bed. VERY practical for a semi-commercial space like mine. :) I like this room too - I think it feels soothing somehow, and I am like you (wanted to do something a little different...) hugs...
ooooo what a pretty site for a wednesday morning :)
I totally agree with you about wanting to be just a little bit different..teensy bit! I think the reason that we are so attracted to the symmetry of this room is because it has so much pattern and texture that it doesn't feel ordinary and staged like many symmetrical rooms can feel. Nice finds!
Love the ottomans!!
Though I usually aim for "balance" or "symmetry," you are right...there is something sooo soothing about a perfectly symmetrical space. Almost a novelty for the eyes these days :) I loooove that rug you scouted!
That symmetrical room is purrrrfect! Have bookmarked for when my daughter goes into her "big girl bed" and we buy a beach house! Love the colour scheme. And a black bed...! Who would have thought.
LOVE your blog.
